Kano Hisbah arrests nine for eating during Ramadan
Kano Islamic police, Hisbah, on Wednesday arrested nine people eating during Ramadan fast.
Hisbah’s deputy commander general, Mujahid Aminudeen, confirmed the arrest.
“We have arrested them and they are with us where we are going to be teaching them the importance of fasting, how to pray, read the Quran and become better Muslims,” Mr Aminudeen reportedly told the BBC.
Mr Aminudeen said the nine persons arrested for not fasting comprised seven male and two females.
According to the Hisbah deputy commander, the nine arrested were Muslims and they claimed they were not aware Ramadan commenced on Wednesday.
