Kano LG boosts surveillance with motorcycles for security operatives

The Ghari local government in Kano has distributed motorcycles to security personnel to strengthen security and surveillance in the area.
The council chairman, Hashimu Garba, disclosed this on Wednesday while distributing the motorcycles to security personnel and other stakeholders.
Mr Garba said the initiative is part of efforts to improve security and maintain peace across the local government area.
He explained that providing operational equipment to security personnel would facilitate their movement, enable quick response to emergencies, and strengthen security surveillance across communities.
The beneficiaries included the State Security Service, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Federal Road Safety Corps.
Others, according to him, included vigilante groups, the Joint Task Force, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association, traditional rulers, neighbourhood watch personnel, and other security stakeholders.
The chairman said the support aimed to strengthen security personnel and other stakeholders to ensure peace and security across the local government area.
He further said the initiative would boost the morale of security personnel and enhance their ability to protect residents’ lives and property.
A cross-section of beneficiaries interviewed expressed appreciation to the council for the support and pledged to intensify patrols in communities to protect lives and property and maintain peace and security.
