Kano LG distributes malaria drugs to children
The Tarauni Local Government Council in Kano State has begun distributing malaria drugs to 77,627 children across its 10 wards.
The council chairman, Ahmed Ibrahim-Sekure, disclosed this on Friday in a statement by the Council’s Information Officer, Adamu Ilyasu-Hotoro, during an inspection tour to assess the progress of the exercise.
The intervention, he said, targets children aged three to 59 months to safeguard their health and reduce vulnerability to malaria infections.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting health initiatives that prioritise children’s well-being in the area.
Also speaking, the head of health services in the council, Muktar Datti-Gwarzo, urged parents and caregivers to cooperate fully with health workers to ensure total coverage.
He also reaffirmed the council’s dedication, in collaboration with the state government and development partners, to sustaining grassroots healthcare programmes.
