Kano man to die by hanging for killing wife

A Kano State High Court on Tuesday sentenced Aminu Inuwa to death by hanging for killing his wife Safara’u Mamman.
Mr Inuwa, whose age was not provided by the court, resides at Gwazaye Quarters Dorayi Babba Kano, and was said to have committed the offence on April 2, 2019.
Prosecution Counsel, Lamido Sorondinki, told the court Mr Inuwa slit his wife’s throat with a kitchen knife during an argument and buried her in an uncompleted room in his house.
The prosecution presented three witnesses and six exhibits while the defence counsel produced one witness. The convict denied committing the offence.
However, in delivering judgment, Justice Usman Na’abba of the Kano High Court, held that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
