Katsina Hisbah shuts down schools, tutorials statewide for Ramadan season

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has ordered the suspension of academic activities in all private schools in the state during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement on Thursday, Hisbah commander-general, Aminu Usman, stated that schools must comply with the directive “to allow pupils to observe the holy month.”
“In accordance with the Katsina State Government’s directive, all private schools are required to close for Ramadan period to allow pupils to fully observe the holy month,” said the statement.
Mr Usman added that “the directives include extra lessons.”
“The Hisbah Board urges all school proprietors to strictly comply with this directive. Non-compliance will not be tolerated,” he stated.
The directive coincided with the decision of the Bauchi government to shut down all schools in the state for five weeks in the spirit of Ramadan.
