Residents of Katsina State have urged Governor Aminu Masari to complete the ongoing underpass in the metropolis on schedule to boost development.

Ibrahim Suleiman, one of the residents who expressed interest in the road, told journalists that traffic movements would be enhanced on completion of the project.

Mr Suleiman said that the project would enhance free movement of vehicles in the town and also improve socio-economic development. He noted that the underpass is the gateway for people coming into Katsina town and to other places.

Another resident Ladi Balarabe, from Kofar Kwaya said the underpass would facilitate the transportation of goods and people as well beautify the town.

Mr Masari had awarded a contract for the construction of the underpass about six months ago, pledging that the project would be completed within one year.

The governor said that the aim of the road was to reduce traffic and create easy passage in the town.
