Kebbi first lady doles out Ramadan palliatives to 1,000 women

Nafisa Nasir-Idris, Kebbi’s first lady, has disbursed Ramadan palliatives to no fewer than 1,000 women in Birnin Kebbi LGA. The palliatives comprised rice and cash for each beneficiary.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony held in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, she said the gesture was meant to cushion the effects of economic hardship amongst women.
Mrs Nasir-Idris advised women to brace for the task of properly raising children, adding that the era of modern technology, especially the use of phones, had posed a great challenge to decent and moral mentorship.
“As mothers, we should endeavour to be praying for our children to enable them positively contribute their quota to the development of society,” she stated.
Mrs Nasir-Idris appealed to women and the entire people of the state to support her husband’s bid for a second term.
Speaking virtually, Katsina’s first lady, Fatima Dikko-Radda, Jigawa’s first lady, Amina Umar-Namadi, and Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, advised the beneficiaries to use both the knowledge and material wisely.
They reminded the women that the meaning of Ramadan “is kindness and mercy upon the less privileged and amongst the people”.
