Governor Nasir Idris has vowed to resettle all internally displaced persons uprooted by bandits in Sakaba council area to their ancestral homes.

The governor gave the assurance on Thursday when he visited to sympathise with the chief of Sakaba and his people regarding recent bandit attacks that sacked some villages in the area.

He said the present administration was doing everything possible to tackle insecurity bedevilling some parts of the state, observing that no state in Nigeria “is 100 per cent secure”.

“We are not here for politics, but we are here to sympathise with you over the recent bandit attacks. Sakaba is one of the few places this government has at heart. Remember, no state in Nigeria is 100 per cent devoid of one problem or the other. However, our government is doing everything possible to protect its people,” Mr Idris explained.

The governor advised the people to repent and seek divine intervention and urged the residents to promote peace at all times.

“No nation can develop in an atmosphere of rancour or in a chaotic environment; hence the need for all of us to be our brothers’ keepers. We don’t advise any of our supporters to fight anybody, and you shouldn’t tamper with anybody’s posters or billboards. Try to be at peace with everybody,” the governor explained.
