Kebbi: Man nabbed for raping mentally unstable sister in drainage

The police in Kebbi have arrested a man Bashir Ibrahim of Kangiwa town in the state for allegedly raping his mentally infirm sister.

The police in Kebbi have arrested a man Bashir Ibrahim of Kangiwa town in the state for allegedly raping his mentally infirm sister.

The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Magaji-Kontagora, told journalists that Mr Ibrahim took his sister into a drainage on September 26 and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

He said the suspect would be charged to court after the investigation.

Also, he said another suspect, Danjuma Tanko,30, was arrested for raping an 8-year-old girl. 

“One Danjuma Tanko, ’30’, of Zariya Kala-Kala village, Koko/Besse LGA, dubiously took an eight-year-old girl of the same address who was selling beans cake into the house of one Umaru Dauda and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her and gave her N200.

“Later, the suspect also gave the said Dauda N200 for using his room to perpetrate his evil intention.

“Case is still under investigation and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed,” he said.

The commissioner said the incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on September 16.

Mr Magaji-Kontagora called on the members of the public to monitor their surroundings to stop such incidents and help provide the command with useful information on suspicious persons.
