Kebbi partners Portugal to establish football academy: Official

The Kebbi government says it has partnered Portuguese agency Break Management Agency to establish a Football Academy (FA) to scout for local talents in the state.
Chairman of the FA, Abubakar Chika-Ladan, disclosed this during a stakeholders’ meeting on sports held in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He said the Portuguese agency that was invited was “the same agency that discovered Cristiano Ronaldo and made him a popular footballer across the world.”
Mr Chika-Ladan said the Portuguese agency has the capacity to recruit and send players to any European club in the world.
He said the Portuguese Ambassador to Nigeria will visit Kebbi for the academy’s kick off.
The representative of Break Management Agency, Fedro Batista, said the agency would give technical and other support towards the establishment of the academy.
