The Kebbi State Government has suspended academic activities indefinitely in two private schools in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Director, Higher Education, Malam Aliyu Shehu-Jega, in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

The director quoted the state’s Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar-Tunga, as making the announcement in Birnin Kebbi.

He named the affected schools as Lamido Umaru Mutube College of Advanced Studies also known as Health Sciences and Technology, Dakingari, and SAHAM College of Health Sciences and Technology, Zuru.

According to the commissioner, the suspension of academic activities in the affected schools followed their failure to pay their annual dues of N100,000 each for two consecutive years of 2022 and 2023, respectively.

NAN reports that the debt incurred by each of the affected schools amounted to N200,000 only.
