The FRSC has advised motorists to keep a 200-metre distance between their vehicle and the next to avoid preventable crashes.

Anthony Uga gave the advice in an interview on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun.

mR Uga said the advice was necessary for motorists so that when there are challenges or emergencies, the vehicle behind would easily manoeuvre from such a scene or place.

The FRSC sector commander in Ogun said such a measure would help to prevent mishaps in the event of any emergency.

“Every motorist using the road must be on guard, and as you are driving, motorists should keep distance between them and the next vehicle,” he said.

Mr Uga urged motorists to avoid excessive speed and refrain from wrongful overtaking, especially during this rainy season, to stem accidents.
