Keep protesting, occupy govt institutions; help is coming,Trump assures Iranian protesters
U.S. President Donald Trump has charged Iranians to sustain the protest and occupy government institutions, promising that help is on the way.
In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, Mr Trump said, “Iranian Patriots, Keep protesting– Take over your institutions!!!”
The American president said “Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops. Help is on its way. MIGA!!!. Make Iran Great Again.”
Mr Trump slammed a 25 per cent tarriff on any country having bilateral relationship with Iran on Monday, days after threatening to “hit Iran hard” over reports of a brutal clampdown on protesters.
Over 2,000 people have been killed since December 28, when economic crisis sparked a nationwide protests in Iran.
Iran’s worsening inflation hit 42 per cent, and its currency, the rial, plummeted to an all-time low of 1.4 million rials per dollar.
Thousands of Iranians hit the streets of the Islamic republic for several days to protest against worsening economic conditions and demand regime change. Their remonstrations have been met with violent force by state security forces.
