Knifeman Essa Suleiman charged with attempted murder for stabbing Jews

Essa Suleiman, the Somalia-born Brit who stabbed two Jewish men in London on Wednesday, has been charged with attempted murder.
Mr Suleiman was arrested and has been in custody after stabbing two Jewish men, Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76, in Golders Green on Wednesday.
Metropolitan Police in a statement on Friday that Mr Suleiman was charged with two counts of attempted murder.
In addition, Mr Suleiman was charged with another “one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place in relation to an attack in Golders Green on Wednesday.
According to the police, Mr Suleiman was also charged with attempted murder in relation to a separate incident on the same date in Great Dover Street.
He would appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday (today)
Helen Flanagan, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing London leading investigations into Mr Suleiman’s attack, said, “We are determined to get justice for the victims, and now that a person has been charged, I would urge everyone to avoid any further speculation in relation to this case so that justice can run its course.”
Following Wednesday’s attack, the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre raised the UK’s terrorism threat level to “severe” amid a sustained increase in threats from “broader Islamist and extreme right-wing terrorists”.
The level was raised from “substantial”—meaning an attack is likely—to “severe”—the second-highest of five levels—indicating an attack is “highly likely” within the next six months.
