Governor Ahmed Ododo says his administration is committed to building and transforming the state for the benefit of its citizens.

The governor said this in a statement on Wednesday to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Kogi’s creation.

Mr Ododo, who congratulated the people of the state on the anniversary, described it as a milestone, a moment of sober reflection, and renewed hope.

According to him, Kogi is now undergoing a massive transformation, with ongoing road projects, remodeled schools, revitalised hospitals, and rural development initiatives.

“We may not yet be where we desire to be, but we are certainly no longer where we used to be. From Akutupa to Oshokoshoko, from Adavi to Ibaji, from Ajiolo to Gegu, I hear your voices and aspirations for a better and more prosperous Kogi.

“That is why I have a vision of a Kogi where every child will have access to quality education, healthcare is within the reach of all, industries thrive, and agriculture guarantees prosperity for the people,” he said.

The governor recalled that since the state’s creation in 1991, Kogi had weathered challenges and recorded triumphs, forging an identity built on resilience, diversity, and boundless potential.

Mr Ododo urged citizens to partner with his administration in building the state of their dreams, stressing that progress requires the commitment of all.

“Your votes gave me the mandate, but I want my service and results to define me,” he said.

The governor called on the people to renew their pledge to unity, peace, and hard work as the state stepped into another year of its existence.

“Happy 34th anniversary to the ‘Confluence State’. The journey ahead is bright, and together, we will walk it in hope and strength,” he said.
