KOSIEC boss releases statistic, summary results of Kogi LG polls

Mamman Nda-Eri, chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission on Wednesday, released the statistics/summary results of the October 19 council election.
Mr Nda-Eri, who made the declaration during the official presentation of the summary results of the election at KOSIEC’s headquarters in Lokoja, said that the delay was not deliberate.
“The commission was constrained by lots of names misspellings, which needed to be put right before we go on with typing for clarity and transparency. As you are aware, most of these election results are handwritten and have lots of spelling errors due to our diversity of tribes.
“We will outline the results across the various LGAs, highlighting voter turnout party performance and the elected officials, who will assume leadership roles in the 21 councils,” he stated.
KOSIEC chairman explained that the summary results contained details of who scored what among the contestants for chairmanship and councillorship within the 19 participating political parties in the state.
“By the statistics, you can see who scored what to win or lose the keenly contested election of October 19,” he noted.
Mr Mamman added, “We appreciate the participation of all stakeholders, including the voters, candidates, electoral officials, security operatives, the media and Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), whose efforts helped ensure a peaceful and transparent electoral process.”
