Kuje Prison Attack: Buhari summons Osinbajo, service chiefs, others
President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned an emergency National Security Council meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ministers, security and service chiefs in attendance.
Others attending the security meeting include Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari.
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, was represented at the meeting.
It was reliably gathered that at the meeting would deliberate on Nigeria’s worsening insecurity occasioned by the recent attacks on Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, by Boko Haram terrorists.
In Tuesday prison breach by the insurgents, Boko Haram inmates and other hardened criminals were freed.
Mr Buhari had on Wednesday visited the prison attacked by the terrorists and said he was disappointed with the nation’s intelligence system.
“I am disappointed with the intelligence system. How can terrorists organise, have weapons, attack a security installation and get away with it?” said Mr Buhari.
