Kwara APC governorship aspirant hopeful of credible primary

Alabi Tajudeen, Kwara All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant, has expressed confidence in a free, fair and credible primary by the party’s leadership.
Mr Tajudeen said this while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja after obtaining the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the Kwara governorship in 2027. He described the process as a concise format that should be followed with due diligence, saying it promised good results.
“I have said it multiple times, I believe in the leadership of the APC and with what I’ve seen here today, I am convinced that the APC will follow through with the process, and it will yield desired results. I am sure that by the time we go for the primaries, its outcome will be acceptable by all,” Mr Tajudeen said.
Mr Tajudeen expressed confidence that he would emerge as the APC’s candidate and the next governor of Kwara if the primary were free, fair, and credible.
There was tension at the venue as aspirants who came to purchase the forms and their supporters had difficulty gaining access, while security operatives tried to maintain law and order.
At the commencement of the exercise on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu formally joined the 2027 presidential race. His expression of interest and nomination forms, valued at N100 million, were picked up by James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives.
