Kwara assembly confirms two commissioner-nominees

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had requested the screening and confirmation of the nominees.

The Kwara House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Mariam Fatimah-Imam and Lawal Olorungbebe as commissioner-nominees in the state executive council.

The confirmation was done at the plenary on Wednesday, presided over by the Speaker, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.

The speaker recalled the message from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, requesting the screening and confirmation of the nominees.

During the plenary, both nominees appeared before the House and were screened accordingly before being confirmed after deliberations at the Committee of the Whole.

Following their confirmation, the speaker directed the Clerk of the House, Abdulkareem Ahmed, to formally communicate the decision to the governor.
