Kwara fire service sensitises traders to fire-fighting techniques
The Kwara State Fire Service has sensitised traders of Oja-Oba Market Ilorin, to the basics of fire techniques.
The service officials, led by Hassan Hakeem, delivered a lecture on basic fire-fighting techniques on Tuesday in Ilorin.
They also demonstrated the smothering method and various preventive measures to the audience.
Market vendors engaged in the session and absorbed valuable insights.
Mr Hakeem explained that the sensitisation became necessary because of rising cases of fire outbreak in the country.
He lectured the vendors on the first aid fire-fighting techniques and basic fire prevention.
He encouraged vendors to implement the knowledge gained during the lecture diligently.
The Iyaloja of Oja-Oba, Mariam Monshood, expressed appreciation to both the state government and the state Fire Service for their dedicated efforts at ensuring safety within the community.
