Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has joined the global Muslim community, especially in the state, to joyfully welcome Ramadan, the ninth lunar month in which fasting is prescribed for Muslims.

This is contained in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Saturday in Ilorin.

Mr Ajakaye said, “The governor congratulates the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the arrival of this sacred month. Ramadan is the month of mercy in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed to the blessed Prophet Muhammad.’’.

He said that the governor thanked Allah for granting him the opportunity to witness another Ramadan.

According to him, the governor prays for the acceptance of prayers, worship, and the blessings of forgiveness and mercy.

“The governor also urges the community to dedicate the solemn month to prayers for a stronger, safer, and more prosperous nation and Kwara State,” Mr Alakaye said.
