Kwara governor, UNILORIN vice-chancellor mourns Prof Ijaodola

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has mourned the demise of a legal icon, Rashidi Ijaodola.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday.
Mr AbdulRazaq described Ijaodola as a national asset who lived a noble life of service to the country, community, and people, earning universal respect.
The governor extended heartfelt condolences to the legal luminary’s family, friends, and associates, as well as the Offa community and Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II.
The vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Wahab Egbewole, described Mr Ijaodola’s death as a great loss.
Mr Egbewole noted that Ijaodola’s passing is a significant blow to both the legal profession and the academic community in Nigeria.
The late scholar hailed from Offa LGA and once lectured Law at the University of Ilorin.
He passed away on Sunday morning. Until his death, he was a law professor at Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo.
Mr Egbewole said the deceased bestrode academia like a colossus, mentoring generations of lawyers in various institutions where he had taught.
He described the deceased as a “bookworm” who earned no fewer than four PhDs, including one in Christian Studies, despite being a devout Muslim.
“He was a remarkable scholar, a committed community builder, and a devoted family man,” Mr Egbewole added.
