Kwara poly ends two-day training in public service ethics for non-teaching staff
Kwara State Polytechnic on Wednesday ended its two-day training for non-teaching staff which focused on public service ethics, discipline and academic confidentiality in Ilorin.
The training was organised in collaboration with Strategic Global Concept, to enhance professional standards and integrity within the institution.
In his remarks, the Rector of the school, Abdul Muhammed, encouraged the participants to incorporate the insights gained from the training into their daily activities within and outside the institution.
He was represented by the Deputy Rector, Administration, Dr (Mrs) Felicia Awolola.
Mr Muhammed emphasised the importance of proactiveness and driving positive change within the academic community.
He urged the participants to always maintain a high level of confidentiality in the discharge of their duties.
In his keynote address, the Acting Registrar, Abdulhafis Amin, underscored the significance of ethics and discipline as the twin pillars of public institutions.
He said, “These principles are crucial as they promote accountability, trust, and good governance, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in our service delivery.’’
Mr Amin urged the participants to uphold those values in their workplaces.
He said that a strong commitment to ethics and discipline not only fosters a conducive work environment but also enhanced the overall reputation of the institution.
The training included an interactive workshop and discussions led by seasoned scholars and industry experts.
It provided attendees with tools and strategies to navigate the challenges of maintaining ethics and confidentiality in their daily tasks.
