Kwara poly rector urges Christians to uphold values of Christmas

Rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr. Jimoh Mohammed, has urged Christians in the institution, to embrace the true essence of Christmas by embodying the values exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He made this known in a statement signed by the polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Halimat Garba.
The rector noted that Christmas is more than a festive occasion, but a profound reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ, which embodies love, humility and hope.
He said, “This season reminds us to extend kindness, generosity, and compassion to those around us.
“Sharing, whether through time, resources, or acts of kindness, reflects the heart of Christmas; It strengthens our bonds as brothers and sisters.”
Mr Mohammed urged members of staff and students to use the opportunity to reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who brought salvation and light to humanity.
He noted that emulating Christ’s qualities such as selflessness, forgiveness, and unwavering love, shows that Christians honour the purpose of his birth.
The rector assured of his administration’s commitment to staff and students’ welfare, and wished Christians a meaningful Christmas celebration.
