Kwara TUC chairman tasks federal, state govts on economic stability, security

The chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Kwara chapter, Abdulrahman Onikijipa, has urged the federal government to do more to improve the economy and combat insurgency and other security challenges.
In an interview with journalists in Ilorin on Saturday, Mr Onikijipa said Nigeria had all it takes to be a great nation if properly fixed and managed.
”The government at all levels should ensure there is peace, unity, and economic prosperity in the new year. We want 2026 to be the year of turnaround for Nigeria.
”It is time for every leader and the public to support the government to tackle insurgency and promote peace, unity, and economic stability,” he said.
Mr Onikijipa, also the chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Kwara branch, commended President Bola Tinubu for working tirelessly to fix the country.
“We need to support the leaders for the country to grow in the year 2026,” he said.
The TUC chairman also appealed to Nigerians, irrespective of religion or tribe, to continue working for the peace, unity, and stability of the country and not to leave everything to the government.
Mr Onikijipa congratulated every Nigerian who witnessed the new year 2026.
“May Almighty God see us through in sound health and economic prosperity,” he prayed.
