Lagos: Alimosho LG boss inaugurates three road projects

Johnson Akinpelu, the chairman of the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos, inaugurated three roads constructed by residents of Coker Estate, Orisumbare, in the LGA on Tuesday.
The roads include Joke Beatrice Oluwaji Street, Levi Close, and Philip Taiwo Street, all constructed by the residents.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr Akinpelu commended residents for their “spirit of self-help and community development.”
“Though this is a private estate, you thought beyond yourselves and considered the general good. Let me assure you that we will light up Philip Taiwo Road soon,” he stated.
Mr Akinpelu further said contractors handling Alfred Olaiya Road would return to the site shortly.
He said Coker Estate had raised the bar among private estates in the Alimosho Local Government.
In his remark, a traditional ruler, the Onishasha of Shasha Kingdom, Oba Nosiru Ogunronbi, appreciated the landlords and the estate committee for their commitment to road construction and other developmental projects.
The traditional ruler prayed to God to continue guiding and blessing the residents and their executives.
“You have shown how citizens can be proactive and not always wait for government. This is truly marvelous,” Mr Ogunronbi said.
The estate’s chairman, Tony Obihai, thanked the council chairman for his support and commended Mr Ogunronbi for attending the Phase One inauguration of the Philip Taiwo Road project.
“We are open and ready to support the government. Inclusiveness is central to your administration,” he said, assuring the council boss of their readiness to support the government anytime.
