Lagos APC chieftain Samuel Ajose dumps governorship ambition, declares support for Hamzat

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Samuel Ajose, has dumped his Lagos governorship ambition and declared support for the party’s consensus candidate and Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat.
Announcing his withdrawal to his supporters on Tusday, Mr Ajose, said though it was a tough decision, he vowed to support Mr Hamzat to take over from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He also promised to play a pivotal role in his campaign.
Mr Ajose said, “I know it’s a very tough decision. I didn’t sleep overnight too. I struggled with it but when I woke up in the morning, I had my peace. That’s why I said, everything that everybody will benefit, me being the governor, you’re still going to benefit it, because we have made sure that we took care of the interest of everybdoy. I think that’s the best and for you.
“In the interest of the masses, I Dr. Samuel Mayuwon Ajose, have decided that I will let go, and I will support Dr. Hamzat. We’re going to be part of his campaign, we’re going to take very important position in his campaign.”
Earlier, another APC chieftain, Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly called Jandor, also from the race and declared support for Mr Hamzat.
