The chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hammed Aroyewun, donated a new bus to the Association of Commodity Women and Men of Nigeria (ACMWAMN), Igbogbo/Baiyeku Chapter.

Mr Aroyewun presented the bus to the members of the association on Friday during activities marking the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Adeboruwa of the Igbogbo Kingdom.

He said the donation was in fulfilment of his campaign promise to support the traders and strengthen their commercial activities.

According to him, market women and men remain critical stakeholders in the economic development of the council, and his administration will continue to support initiatives that improve their welfare.

“This administration believes that prosperity is not measured by government alone but by the visible improvement in the lives of our people.

“During our campaign, we assured the commodity traders that their requests would not be ignored. Today, we are fulfilling that promise with the presentation of this bus.

“The vehicle will enhance the association’s operations, improve members’ mobility and support their businesses,” he said.

Responding, the head of market women and men in the council, Ashake Wahab-Sonubi, thanked the chairman for fulfilling his promise.

She said the chairman had consistently placed the welfare of the people first, adding that members of the association were grateful for the bus.

“We sincerely appreciate the chairman for always putting the people first and for fulfilling the promise he made to us.

“The entire association is grateful for this long-anticipated bus. It will greatly support our operations and business activities,” she said.
