Lagos council chairman lauds community over voters’ awareness campaign

Oluyemisi Rosiji, chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, commended the community development committee (CDC) on Friday for its voters’ awareness campaign.
Ms Rosiji gave the commendation in a statement issued by her chief press secretary, Davies Olanrewaju.
She applauded the voters’ awareness committee, led by Samuel Alabi, for initiating the exercise in Wards F and G.
She noted that the committee’s efforts on registration, transfer, data correction and PVC validation support the administration’s drive to boost democratic participation in Ojokoro LCDA.
Ms Rosiji said, “I sincerely commend the CDC leadership and members for enlightening residents on the importance of voter registration and validating their voter cards.
“Your commitment to addressing concerns on INEC office location, collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and other electoral matters demonstrates true civic responsibility at the grassroots.”
She noted that the exercise showed dedication to grassroots mobilisation and encouraged more residents to participate actively in the electoral process.
She said democracy thrives on citizen participation and that the CDC’s efforts had motivated many residents to register.
Ms Rosiji expressed gratitude to the CDC’s entire electoral committee for partnering with the council to promote political consciousness in the community.
She pledged that the administration would continue to support initiatives to build a participatory and progressive Ojokoro LCDA for all eligible residents.
She thanked the committee for its selfless service.
She also noted its dedication to the collective progress and democratic development of Ojokoro LCDA.
