Lagos: CP decorates police doctor promoted to superintendent

The police commissioner in Lagos, Fatai Tijani, has decorated Opeyemi Ojo with the rank of Superintendent of Police. Mr Ojo, a police medical doctor, was promoted from the Inspectorate cadre.
The command’s spokeswoman, SP Abimbola Adebisi, announced this in a statement on Tuesday. She stated that the decoration ceremony took place at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
Ms Adebisi noted that Mr Ojo’s promotion and conversion from the inspectorate cadre to the rank of SP followed the recommendation of the inspector-general of police, Olatunji Disu. She added that the Police Service Commission approved the promotion.
The command’s spokeswoman stated that while decorating the officer, Mr Tijani described the promotion as well-deserved recognition of Mr Ojo’s professionalism, dedication and invaluable contributions to healthcare service delivery in the Nigeria Police Force.
“The commissioner congratulated the newly decorated superintendent and urged him to remain committed to the discharge of his professional responsibilities,” Ms Adebisi said.
She said Mr Tijani charged Mr Ojo to uphold the ethics of the medical profession and the core values of the police in the course of his duties.
Mr Tijani reaffirmed the command’s commitment to recognising and rewarding excellence, professionalism and dedication among its personnel, according to the statement.
