Lagos filling stations hike fuel prices above N1,000 per litre

Filing stations across Lagos State have adjusted their pumps to reflect the price of a litre of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol, from N1,020 to N1,064.
Checks by Peoples Gazette on Saturday showed that NNPC at Agbado junction, in Alagbado, now sells at N1,050.
At Tecno Oil in Jankara, also in the Alagbado area, a litre costs N1,050; Jalaco at Ajala Bustop, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, is selling the same quantity at N1,020, while NNPC at Mangoro fixed their fuel price at N1,005.
Hayden Petroleum at Ilupeju bypass is selling at N1,035; at Onipanu, AP is selling at N1,038; Mobil, N1,064; Total Energies, N1,055; and NIPCO, N1,064.
The latest hike comes a day after Dangote Refinery increased the price per litre by N221, from ₦874 to ₦995, just four days after hiking it by N100, from ₦774 to ₦874 per litre. On February 10, 2026, the refinery increased it from N774 to N799.
The recent incessant increase comes amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, particularly involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
The first time PMS was sold for over N1,000 per litre was on May 29, 2023, when President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidy during his inauguration.
