Lagos fourth wealthiest city in Africa, seventy-two worldwide: Report

The report further detailed that Lagos has about 5,400 millionaires with a net worth of $1 million.

Lagos is now the fourth wealthiest city in Africa, behind Johannesburg, Cairo, and Cape Town, according to a recent report by Henley and Partners.

The report, which was released on Tuesday, listed New York, Tokyo, and The Bay Area as the three wealthiest cities in the world. The report ranked Lagos as the 72nd wealthiest city worldwide.

Lagos has three billionaires and 16 centimillionaires, according to the survey, which looked at the number of dollar billionaires, centimillionaires, and millionaires in each city to determine its ranking.

The report further detailed that Lagos has about 5,400 millionaires with a net worth of $1 million.

The report covered 97 cities from nine regions including Africa, Australasia, CIS, East Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

Lagos was the only Nigerian city to make it to the list of wealthiest cities per the report

Casablanca (Morocco), Adisa Baba (Ethiopia), Nairobi (Kenya), Accra (Ghana), Maputo (Mozambique), Mombasa (Kenya), Tangier (Morocco), Lusaka (Zambia), Swakopmund (Namibia), and Walvis Bay (Namibia) are among the other African cities on the list of the 97 richest cities worldwide.
