Lagos govt impounds 57 commercial vehicles, tricycles for traffic violations

The Traffic Monitoring and Investigation Unit (TMI) of the Lagos state ministry of transportation, has impounded 57 commercial vehicles and tricycles for traffic violations.
Bolanle Ogunlola, deputy director, public affairs of the ministry disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.
Ms Ogunlola noted that the vehicles and tricycles were apprehended when the unit conducted a comprehensive enforcement operation around the Iyana Ipaja garage and its connecting roads.
She added that the unit focused on both inbound and outbound traffic.
“During the exercise, 57 commercial vehicles and tricycles were apprehended and impounded for various traffic violations, including illegal parking, picking up passengers at undesignated spots, resulting in obstruction of traffic.
“This operation effectively cleared the area of vehicular congestion caused by these infractions, restoring smooth traffic flow and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations,” she said.
