Lagos LCDA boss charges residents on voters registration

The chairman of Badagry-West LCDA, Rauf Yemaren, has urged residents of the council to participate in the ongoing continuous voter registration.
Mr Yemaren made the call during his first official meeting with the community development committee in Kankon, Badagry, on Wednesday.
He described the permanent voter card as the automated teller machine of his administration, urging residents to mobilise massively for the ongoing CVR.
“Your PVC will serve as your ATM in this administration. Let us all canvass and make use of the designated points for online registration. When you take your register and add your voter’s card number, it shows you are part of the government of the day,” he said.
Addressing the 140 community development associations under the CDC, Mr Yemaren said he owed his victory to the people.
He also assured the people that his administration would prioritise their welfare and infrastructure needs.
The chairman also rallied community leaders to work vigorously for the electoral success of President Bola Tinubu, stressing that his emergence offered hope for the LCDA to attain full local government status.
He recalled the period between 1999 and 2003, when Lagosians benefited immensely from Mr Tinubu’s leadership in terms of both infrastructure and welfare.
The CDC chairman, Bashir Yussuf, commended the council chairman for his inclusive style of leadership and disclosed that the executives had already submitted a proposal to his office.
Mr Yussuf assured that the committee would work closely with the administration for community development.
