Lagos security arraigned for sexual assault

The Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 58-year-old man, Sesan Olabode, to Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
The chief magistrate, C. M. Kushanu, did not take the defendant’s plea.
Ms Kushanu ordered the remand of the defendant in Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending advice from the director of public prosecutions. The case was adjourned until January 20, 2026.
The defendant, a security guard, is being tried for sexual assault.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the offence was committed in September in Agege, Lagos.
The prosecutor said that the defendant, who is a security guard for the community, lured the victim, a 16-year-old girl, into his security post.
The prosecutor said that the defendant had forcibly had carnal knowledge of the girl and gave her N2,000 to keep mute.
The prosecutor, however, said the victim got home and told her mother.
