The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments across the state over persistent environmental violations.

The LASEPA disclosed this in a statement on its official X handle on Wednesday.

The ​‌⁠​‍‍⁠⁠‌⁠‌‍‍‌‌​‌‌​affected establishments are located in Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe areas of the state.

The agency said the establishments received warnings, abatement notices and opportunities to comply with its directives.

It said the enforcement was carried out to ensure compliance with environmental laws and protect public health across the state.

LASEPA said the establishments violated environmental regulations and failed to implement prescribed corrective measures.

The affected establishments include Thrillz Lounge, Odusanmi Street, Ogba, sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance with LASEPA directives.

Feixiang Plastic, along LASU-Ojo Road, Oko Filling Bus Stop, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives. Marvel Hotel & Suites, Chrisbee Crescent, Igando, was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance with LASEPA directives.

Keviz Hotel & Suites, Councilor Ajayi Street, Obadore Bus Stop, LASU-Iba Road, was sealed for obstruction of duty and non-compliance.

DSN Hotel & Suites, Benson Onyeacholen Street, LASU-Igando Road, was sealed for non-compliance with the agency’s directives.

Rudaj Vegetable Oil, Tanimowo Street, Ologufe Bus Stop, Igando Road, was also sealed for non-compliance with the directives.

Celestial Church of Christ, Aduragbemi Parish, Okerube Bus Stop, Ikotun, was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance.

Limas, Aro-Oloye Street, off Abaranje Road, Abaranje, Ikotun, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

Nico Hotel & Suites, Ayawo Close, NEPA Bus Stop, Egbe-Isolo Road, Ejigbo, was sealed for non-compliance.

10Kobo Night Club, Abanishe Street, off Hostel Road, Agodo-Egbe, was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance.

Master Furniture, Coleman Street, Pao Bus Stop, Idimu-Ikota Road, was sealed for non-compliance with environmental directives.

Nikky’s Executive Bar & Lounge, Governor’s Road, Ikotun, was also sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

LASEPA General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to protecting public health and enforcing environmental standards across Lagos.

Mr Ajayi said environmental compliance was a collective responsibility and that enforcement would continue against activities posing risks to the environment and public health.

He urged businesses, religious organisations, scrap dealers and residents to obtain required permits and comply with applicable environmental regulations.

He also urged operators to adopt environmentally responsible practices and cooperate with LASEPA towards achieving a cleaner and healthier Lagos.
