Lawmaker condoles with Zamfara community attacked by bandits

A lawmaker, Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC-Zamfara), has paid a condolence visit to Maru community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara over recent bandits’ attack in the area.
Maru community was attacked by bandits recently which led to the killing and kidnapping of many innocent people.
Mr Zubairu represents Bungudu and Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement issued in Gusau on Saturday, the Chief Press Secretary to the lawmaker, Aminu Lawal, said Mr Zubairu visited Maru town and condoled with the family of the victims of the recent armed bandits attack in the area.
He said the lawmaker described recent bandits attack in the area that resulted in the deaths of many innocent people and the abduction of several others, as unfortunate.
“I was heavy-hearted by the sad development in Maru town. Only God knows the extent of my concern to the plight of the people I am representing particularly the devastating insecurity that has continued to subject the people to monumental hardships.
“I will continue to do everything humanly possible to give my constituents the best in terms of the security of their lives and properties,” Lawal quoted the lawmaker as saying.
He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased victims and the safe return of the abducted.
“The lawmaker urged the constituents to support the security agencies to succeed in fighting banditry.
During the visit, special prayers for the restoration of peace were observed,” he added.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker has attended the funeral prayer of the late District Head of Karakkai, Muhammad Bello-Yusuf,, who died following a brief illness.
Condoling with the families and community members shortly after the funeral rites, Mr Zubairu described the deceased as a leader who contributed immensely to national development.
Mr Zubairu said the demise of the late traditional ruler did not only affect the members of his household or Karakkai district but the entire traditional institutions in Bungudu LGA and Zamfara State.
He added, “In spite of the security tension that continues to pose threats in our communities, the late district head remained with his subjects and continued to support government/community policies and programmes implementations.
“His dedication to duty was one of the good qualities of the late district head that history will never forget.”
The lawmaker also condoled with the Emir of Bungudu, Hassan Attahiru and the entire people of Bungudu Emirate while he prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased and his admittance in the exalted Jannah.
