LGAN honours Mamah, decorates Okwuosa as AACT ambassador

The Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria on Monday conducted an All Africa Challenge Trophy sensitisation visit to Enugu Golf Club, during which it honoured Chief Emeka Mamah and decorated Ogechi Okwuosa as ambassadors.
LGAN’s president, Lami Ahmed, who led the delegation, said the AACT remained a platform for promoting women’s golf and enhancing Nigeria’s sporting image across Africa.
She said the 2026 edition of the tournament, scheduled for November 2 to 7 in Abuja, would attract over 30 African countries.
According to her, the event is expected to boost tourism, encourage youth participation and enhance global recognition of Nigeria’s golf ecosystem.
The association also presented an award of appreciation to Emeka Mamah, CEO of Ifesinachi Motors, for his support of golf and women’s development.
Responding, Mr Mamah expressed appreciation for the recognition and pledged continued support for initiatives to empower women and develop the sport.
“I am honoured by this recognition. Golf development, especially for women, deserves sustained investment and encouragement. I will continue to partner with stakeholders to ensure Nigeria hosts a successful and memorable AACT in 2026,” he added.
In the same vein, LGAN decorated Mr Okwuosa as an AACT Ambassador at the event.
The LGAN president said Mr Okwuosa’s appointment would inspire more golfers and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in continental competitions.
“Okwuosa embodies excellence and commitment. His role as AACT ambassador will motivate greater participation in the sport,” she said.
