LIVE: Delegates begin voting at PDP presidential convention 2022

The open-secret ballot system will be used during the exercise, which is being coordinated by former Senate President David Mark.

Voting has commenced by delegates at the ongoing Peoples Democratic Party national convention and presidential primaries.

The velodrome arena at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium has been cleared for the process to pick one of the aspirants as the main opposition’s candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

The open-secret ballot system will be used during the exercise, which is being coordinated by former Senate President David Mark.

The party accredited 767 delegates for the convention. Agents of all aspirants have been called to the podium to certify all ballot papers.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, a voting official, warned candidates not to vote for those who have stepped down or those votes will be nullified.

9:00 p.m: Adamawa, Akwa Ibom and Anambra have started voting.

10:15 p.m: Counting of votes has now commenced.
