LP governorship candidate in Anambra George Moghalu quits party

Mr Moghalu expressed profound gratitude to the party at ward, state, and national levels.

George Moghalu, Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the 2025 Anambra election, has resigned his membership of the party.

He conveyed his decision in a letter dated January 26 and addressed to the party chairman of his ward, Uruagu, Nnewi. 

Mr Moghalu expressed profound gratitude to the party at ward, state, and national levels for providing the platform to contest the governorship election.

He also acknowledged the support and cooperation of party leaders and members throughout his campaign.

“I bring you the good wishes of my family and formally inform you of my resignation from the LP, effective January 26, 2026.

“Let me also thank the party for allowing me to contest the last governorship election under its platform.

“Please accept my sincere regards and kindly convey them to all members,” he stated.
