LP’s Patrick Dakum congratulates Plateau governor-elect Caleb Mutfwang

The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Plateau State, Patrick Dakum, has congratulated governor-elect Caleb Mutfwang.
Mr Dakum made the congratulatory call on Monday afternoon following the announcement of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner in the recently concluded elections.
“This is to say congratulations and to wish you all the best. May God guide you, may God keep you, and may God be with you. We will continue to pray along and see what God does,” Mr Dakum said in a video posted on social media.
In a follow-up tweet, Mr Dakum, the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) assured that the Labour Party will work for the betterment of the state.
“I have just called Caleb Mutfwang to congratulate him as elected Governor of Plateau State and pray God’s guidance for him. May Plateau be the beneficiary of God’s blessings in the days ahead. The Labour Party will continue work for a better Plateau,” he wrote.
Mr Mutfwang polled 525,299 to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, who scored 481,400 votes in the highly contested elections.
Mr Dakum defected to the Labour Party after he lost the controversial APC primaries to Mr Yilwatda.
He ousted Yohanna Margif who was the Labour Party flagbearer to become the party’s candidate.
Mr Margif was expelled from the party over allegations of fraud.
