Makinde’s candidate Adekanmbi will win Oyo governorship poll; but he should forget presidency: Primate Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has said the Allied People’s Movement (APM) 2027 governorship candidate in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, will win the election.
Governor Seyi Makinde endorsed Mr Adekanmbi as his preferred successor.
Mr Ayodele, in a video on Tuesday, stated, “Not that I am supporting Seyi Makinde who is very snobbish. Makinde must be very firm he can still win the governorship seat.”
The cleric, however, said Mr Makinde would not win the presidency, urging him to pay more attention to the governorship race in the state.
“The only thing he will not get is the president. He will not secure 10,000 votes talk less of 3,000. He should face Oyo State squarely,” the clergyman added.
The cleric’s prophecy came amid political calculations and realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mr Makinde, alongside his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APM following the former’s protracted internal crisis.
He collapsed a significant portion of the party’s structure in the state and asked his loyalists, including state assembly members and federal lawmakers, to join him in the APM ahead of 2027.
The governor had since emerged the 2027 presidential candidate of the APM.
