Man, 43, arraigned for allegedly stealing pharmaceutical products

A 43-year-old man on Thursday, appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State, over alleged conversion and stealing of pharmaceutical products worth ₦3.3 billion.
The defendant, Oluwafemi Akinsanmi, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on dishonest conversion and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, alleged that the defendant committed the offence in August 2025 at Lake View Estate, Phase 2, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
She alleged that the defendant dishonestly converted to his personal use, pharmaceutical products belonging to Visko Pharmacy Ltd.
He was also accused of stealing the said products valued at ₦3.3 billion.
The prosecutor said that the defendant was eventually arrested following investigation by the police.
The offences contravene the provisions of section 280(b) and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The Magistrate, L.A. Owolabi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N400,000 with sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until April 21, for hearing. (NAN)
