Man, 43, in court for allegedly injuring another

A 43-year-old man, Olasunbo Animashaun, who allegedly beat up a man, on Thursday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, on a two-count charge.

Animashaun, who resides at Ashaka in the Elebu area of Ibadan, is facing  charges of conspiracy and breach of peace.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Tellang, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some others still at large on June 26 at 2.00 p.m. at Elebu.

Mr Tellang alleged that the defendant beat up the complainant, Femi Ajala, and injured his face.

He added that the defendant conducted himself in a manner that breached public peace when he beat up Ajala in public.

Mr Tellang said the offences contravened Sections 355 and 249(D) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Oluwaferanmi Raji, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Mr Raji adjourned the case until August 4 for mention.
