Man, 48, arraigned for allegedly assaulting four siblings

A 48-year-old man, Sulaimon Bakare, on Thursday appeared before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly threatening to kill three brothers and assaulting their sister.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a four-count charge bordering on violence, assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 19 at No 5, Mount Carmel Avenue, Owutu area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Mr Isaac alleged that the defendant on March 19, threatened to kill two brothers Samson Ogunbanjo and Kalejaiye Ogunbanjo.
He said that the defendant also on March 30 assaulted one Moyosore Ogunbanjo by slapping her on the face.
The prosecutor added that the defendant equally assaulted one Adebowale Ogunbanjo, causing grievous bodily harm by throwing a chair on him and using a knife to stab his lips.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Section 56, 56, 172 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, B.A. Sonuga, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
The magistrate adjourned the case until May 15, for mention.
