Man, 53, arraigned over alleged damage of car engine worth N900,000

A 53-year-old man, Musibau Adeshina, on Wednesday, appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly tampering with and damaging a car engine worth N900,000.
The defendant whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a count charge of unlawful interference to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on October 3, at about 10:45 am at Sabo market area of Ikorodu.
The prosecutor said the defendant unlawfully interfered with one Ahmed Malik’s car by pouring petrol into the radiator of his Mazda MPV space bus with registration number IKD 825 HM.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of section 304 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, T.A. Shotobi, granted the defendant bail in the the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum with a verifiable address.
Mrs Shotobi adjourned the case until November 27, for mention.
