Man arraigned for allegedly stealing fish worth N65,000

A 40-year-old man, Oluwatosin Popoola, was on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing fish valued at N65,000.
Popoola, whose address was not provided, pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adeshina Folaranmi, informed the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on July 30 at 7.00 a.m. at Olajide Farm, Orile-Odo, Ibadan.
According to Mr Folaranmi, the defendant who did not have any business at the farm, entered and stole 60 pieces of Tilapia fish and five pieces of catfish, all valued at N65,000.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one reliable surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until November 20 for hearing. (NAN)
