A 23-year-old man, Saminu Sagir, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing a Bajaj motorcycle.

The defendant, an applicant, whose house address was not provided, was arraigned before Magistrate S.Odukoya, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecution Counsel, Esther Adesulu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 1, alleging that the stolen motorcycle was valued at N350,000.

Mrs Adesulu alleged that the defendant conspired with others now at large to steal a Bajaj boxer motorcycle belonging to the complainant, Yinusa Abdullahi.

She said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Odukoya granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until July 5 for trial.
