Man arraigned over alleged forgery of condom packs

A 51-year-old man, Walter Okafor, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly conspiring to forge goods of a company.
Okafor, 35, whose address was not provided, faces a two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
The Police Prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ikhayere, said the offence was committed in December 2023 at the Idumota area of Lagos State.
Ms Ikhayere said the defendant and others still at large duplicated and forged Kiss condom packages, both small and large sizes.
She alleged they reproduced the condom packs without approval or consent from TK2 International Nig. Ltd.
She said the acts violated Sections 363 and 412 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Section 363 prescribes three years’ imprisonment for anyone found guilty of forging any document, writing, or seal.
The Magistrate, Lafeef A. Owolabi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦500,000.
He also ordered two reliable sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to July 1 for mention.
