Manchester City have won the 2025/26 Emirates FA Cup following a narrow 1-0 over Chelsea in the final of the competition at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute when he backheeled a pass by Erling Haaland into the net, securing the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Chelsea almost responded less than 60 seconds later as Marc Cucurella launched a deep throw to Levi Colwill inside City’s box before sending the ball towards the path of Enzo Fernandez, whose effort narrowly went over the crossbar.

It is City’s second trophy of the season after beating Arsenal 2-0 in March to win the Carabao Cup at the same venue.

The Cityzens can still complete a domestic treble this season if they manage to displace Arsenal from the apex of the Premier League with two games remaining.

“I’ve done it a couple of times in training. Not practiced, but if it goes behind me sometimes, I might try a trick or two. It worked today, so I’m grateful!,” Semenyo commented regarding the goal at fulltime.

He added, “It’s been hard work to be honest. I’m learning a lot. I’ve got top pros around me, a top coach, and it’s been a great five months… and long may it continue!.”
